Long Island junior drivers

Junior license rules in Nassau and Suffolk

New York divides its graduated license rules by region, and Long Island has its own set. In Nassau and Suffolk, junior drivers generally drive with a qualifying supervising driver, with limited exceptions for direct trips such as to work or school. Junior restrictions apply until 18, or until 17 for drivers who complete a state-approved Driver and Traffic Safety Education course and receive a Class D license.
