Frequently asked questions
When can I start in-car lessons?
As soon as you have your New York State learner permit. Bring your permit to your first lesson.
How long are lessons and what do they cost?
Lessons are private and one-on-one. A 45-minute lesson is $75 and a 60-minute lesson is $85. Packages of 5, 7, or 10 lessons with your road test included start at $465. See lesson packages.
Do you pick up and drop off students?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at your home, school, or work is included at no extra charge, and instructor travel time is never deducted from your lesson.
What will I practice during lessons?
Everything you need for real-world driving and the road test: city and suburban driving, expressways and highways, parallel parking, three-point turns, and hazard recognition.
Do lessons count toward the 50 supervised hours?
Yes. New York requires drivers under 18 to complete 50 hours of supervised driving, including 15 after sunset. Time spent driving with an All Care instructor can count toward the required supervised-practice hours. A parent or guardian certifies the completed practice on Form MV-262 before the road test.
